Why We Love Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Hyaluronic Serum
Hyaluronic Serum is being touted as a true miracle in the science of skin care. The ingredient is getting major attention from doctors and spas around the world, and researchers are constantly finding new ways that the ingredient can benefit the skin. Hyaluronic acid is something that our bodies naturally produce when we are younger, but as we age, we stop producing it. This makes it easier for sun damage to occur, as well as dryness and loss of collagen and elastin. Replacing the acid with a pure and natural form of itself, however, can help reverse this.

Hyaluronic serum can offer a wide range of benefits. It is definitely effective in helping to produce healthier, younger looking skin. A low molecular weight hyaluronic serum can penetrate deep into your skin, hydrating cells, restoring collagen and elastin function, and even destroying the free radicals that form from sun, chemical, and pollutant exposure. Hyaluronic serum is actually an excellent antioxidant, and when your serum is capable of reaching the deepest layers of your skin, it can be incredibly effective at reversing damage to your cells.

This isn’t all that hyaluronic serum can do, however. It is a superb moisturizer, which makes it wonderful for dry skin as well as for use after laser hair removal. What makes it especially unique is that even though it is nature’s perfect moisturizer, it is also ideal for people with excessively oily skin. Hyaluronic serum can help prevent excessive oil production, giving your skin the balance and moisture that it needs without that grime and shine. It is also excellent for helping to stop the inflammation caused by Retin-A treatments.

Breast Cancer Fighting Foods…

October is the month of breast cancer awareness.  Breast cancer unfortunately has affected many in my family, so this is an issue that hits very close to home for me.  I recently lost my incredible mother, Scotty to cancer in April of 2015.  My mother-in-law, Renee who passed almost 3 years ago, was a breast cancer survivor. I am always tuned in to ways that we as women can naturally help prevent or lower our risk of developing breast cancer.  I have a 3 beautiful daughters, 4 sisters, 4 sister in-laws, and too many to count nieces, girlfriends and fabulous clients.  I don’t want to see any 1 of these women battle this health challenge in their life.  Unfortunately, we all know at least 1 person who currently has breast cancer.

Growing evidence shows that foods, especially plant-based food, can play a role in the war against breast cancer. They may help fight cancer due to the large amount of phytonutrients they contain.

Berries – While all berries contain cancer-fighting phytonutrients, black raspberries, in particular, contain a very high concentration of anthocyanins. These phytochemicals slow down the growth of premalignant cells and keep new blood vessels from forming and potentially feeding a cancerous tumor.

Pomegranates – Early research into the pomegranate’s role in combating cancer suggests that the fruit contains a compound, ellagic acid, that might help contest cancer’s growth (estrogen-dependent cancers in particular).

Spinach – In addition to being one of the healthiest foods on the planet, spinach is also a cancer-fighting food. Like berries, spinach contain large amounts of phytonutrients. Studies show that the more spinach eaten on a regular basis, the lower the chance of getting cancer across the board.

Why we love Retinol!!!

Retinol is a form of vitamin A that can be derived from several enzymatic processes. Vitamin A has been used in various forms in skin care for a very long time, but when it is changed into the form of Retinol it has been found to be the most beneficial. This is because Retinol is the most reactive form of vitamin A available that is still 100% safe to apply to your skin. You can even find naturally occurring Retinol in beta carotene.
Retinol has a particularly small molecular structure giving it the ability to penetrate skin easily and produce noticeable results more effectively. In order to stay taut and wrinkle-free, your skin’s molecular structure must be constantly repaired to combat the negative effects of the various pollutants that you come into contact with every day. Retinol greatly assists the functions in your skin that repair its structure by invigorating the reproduction of cells at the stratum germinativum, which provides the rigidity of the epidermal layer. As Retinol is stimulating the production of these cells, it is also simultaneously stimulating the production of collagen, one of the building blocks of your skin. As if these two functions weren’t enough to convince anyone of the power of Retinol, it is also an antioxidant, fighting against the debilitating effects of any free radicals.
Find out for yourself how effective the proven science behind retinol can be by trying any of the various retinol-based products offered by Lira Clinical! Try the Pro C4 Retinol Serum with PSC or the Pro Retinol Crème for both anti-aging and acne related skin problems and start to experience the amazing benefits of modern skin care technology!

Madonna Lily Plant Stem Cells-Lightening and Brightening the Skin

Madonna Lily Plant Stem Cells-Lightening and Brightening the Skin

In our last post we discussed the amazing breakthroughs in plant stem-cell technology and the incredible effects these innovations can have on your complexion. It just so happens that earlier this month our product line, Lira Clinical announced a brand new plant stem-cell that they are excited to be adding to their extensive ingredients list. A historical symbol of purity due to its bright white color, as well as an active ingredient in many perfumes because of its enticing fragrance, the Madonna Lily is coveted for many reasons. Lira Clinical is proud to add this amazing plant to their impressive resume of plant stem cells included in their various lines of skin care products.

The Madonna Lily has been a featured in works of art from various cultures including the Romans and several countries in the Middle East. One look at the flower’s luxurious bloom and one can quickly understand why the flower was so popular. But looking past its glamorous exterior, the true beauty of this multifaceted plant lies within its cell walls.

The plant stem cells from the Madonna Lily help the vibrance and beauty of your skin in more ways than one. Firstly, the cells from the Madonna Lilly have been proven to interfere with your skin’s transfer of melanocytes to keratinocytes in the basal layer of your skin. What this basically means is that these stem cells interrupt the build-up of melanin in your skin, a process which, left uninterrupted, causes dark spots to form.

Not only do these stem cells have a natural defense to dark spots or splotches on your skin, they have also been proven to actively aide your skin in making new skin cells. Since your skin can often […]

BB, CC & DD Creams…The Beauty Alphabet…What’s the difference??

BB, CC & DD Creams…The Beauty Alphabet…What’s the difference??

Whenever you find yourself browsing a cosmetics store, it is very possible you may come across some products or ingredients you don’t recognize. There are tons of acronyms and confusing terms that may or may not mean anything which is why it is important to understand those terms that actually make a difference. You may have seen certain creams labeled “BB”, “CC”, and “DD” and wondered what they mean and why there is no “AA” cream. Hopefully we can clear up any further confusion with this breakdown of the alphabet creams.

BB Creams

BB or Beauty Balm creams are made to be a perfect mix of cosmetics and skin care. On one hand they even skin tone, blur fine lines, and act as a primer and on the other hand they hydrate your skin, control how oily your skin gets, provide antioxidant protection, and protect and repair your skin cells. On top of everything these amazing multipurpose creams also have SPF protection to prevent sun damage. These creams are the next generation in skin care and eliminate the need for multiple purchases of single-function cosmetics. Not only will they work better than your traditional creams, they will also save you sink space and eliminate clutter.

CC Creams

Although CC (Color Correcting) and BB creams are similar, they both serve a distinct purpose. CC creams are specifically designed to address any redness, puffiness, or discoloration in your skin. Lighter than BB creams, these CC creams are packed with plenty of vitamins to heal your skin and even its tone to make it more radiant than ever. It is similar to BB cream in that it controls the oiliness of your skin, provides plenty of hydration, and includes a […]

Beauty of Plant Stem Cells

We love that our new product line contains, “Plant Stem Cells”. Sometimes when you see the term “Stem Cells” in the news, it often seems like a touchy subject that has polar opinions on each side. Therefore, at a cursory glance it may seem pretty shocking to see cosmetics companies actually advertising stem cells in their products. The truth is that the stem cells in anti-aging cosmetics have nothing to do with the stem cells that you hear about on the news; its just a simple case of confusing homophones. So, with Lira Clinical’s announcement that they are releasing new and improved products with all new plant stem cells, we plan on clearing up any looming misconceptions that are out there due the similar nomenclature.

First and foremost, lets straighten out the primary difference between stem cells in cosmetics and the stem cells that are talking points for political pundits. The stem cells found in cosmetics are extracted from plants, not from humans like the embryonic stem cells that are ethically dubious to some. In fact these plant stem cells are extracted from the stem of a plant, hence the “stem” in stem cells. Also, the “cells” they are referring to when they say “stem cells” are actually just extracts from these plant cells and not the living cells themselves.

In the epidermal layer of your skin there are several cells that are vital to the reparative and growth functions of your skin. The problem is that these vital cells are extremely vulnerable to external factors that you encounter every day. Plant stem cells, like the ones found in many of Lira Clinical’s lines of skin care, are proven to bolster the efforts of these […]

How the Environment Affects Our Skin

Did you know that skin is the largest organ of the body? It is a physical barrier to protect us from the outside world. Every single day the skin provides us with many unique features and functions that keep us safe and healthy. Many times we don’t even know these functions are being preformed or exactly what our skin is even protecting us from. Since our skin is the barrier between us and our environment, it is greatly affected by the elements and environment around us. Our environment is a major factor in our skins health and appearance. When it comes to the environment and skin, the main focus is on weather and pollutants. When we think of weather and how it can harm our skin, most people think of the sun. The sun is by far a huge problem when it comes to the skin. Its harmful rays cause aging, pigment problems like “sun spots”, freckles and other dark spots, and can make the skin appear leathery and worn. The sun has also been known to cause cancer of the skin. It is very important that sunscreen is always worn. Rain or shine, if you can see outside, then the sun is shining and you need to protect your skin from it.

Other weather conditions like low humidity, which often happens in colder weather, can cause the skin to become dry, irritated, tight, itchy and can cause eczema to flare. When these conditions persist, this dryness leads to lines, wrinkles and premature again. Intensive moisturizers and treatments can help to add lost moisture into the skin. High humidity can cause the skin to swell, not slough off as it should, can cause acne flare […]

Want Instantly Better Skin? Exfoliate!

Everybody needs to exfoliate, no matter your age or skin condition. Getting better skin fast is quite easy. Just make sure to add a product that exfoliates into your daily routine, and you’ll get glowing skin in no time. Exfoliation helps skin look better right away by removing dead cells from the skin’s surface.

As we age our cell turnover rate decreases, taking longer for your new cells to reach the outer layer of skin and leaving your complexion dull and lifeless. Additionally, those dead cells cause congestion resulting in black heads, bumpy or acne prone skin.

To rid your skin of the offending dead cells, choose one of Image Skincare’s products with exfoliating ingredients such as:

Ageless Total Facial Cleanser. This 3 in 1 cleanser (cleanser, exfoliator, toner) contains Glycolic Acid, a highly effective Alpha Hydroxy Acid exfoliant.

Ageless Total Anti-Aging Serum. Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids help speed cell turnover rates leaving skin smooth and renewed.

Anti aging serum

Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser. An organic 3 in 1 cleanser that utilizes Decyl Glucoside, a natural exfoliant and sugar surfactant that exfoliates, moisturizes, and protects skin.

Ormedic Facial cleanser

And our favorite exfoliants, the Vital C Hydrating Mask and Ageless Resurfacing Mask.  Experience our professional products with a relaxing and refreshing facial or microdermabrasion.
